Happy New Year, friends, and welcome to 2017!
I had some very exciting personal revelations last year, particularly in the latter half of the year, and then I was very fortunate to go away in the middle of December to the Caribbean! (For those of you interested, you can check out my adventures here.)
I always love the New Year because I consider it a great time to refresh, and refocus. I like to set goals for the New Year, but also create action plans to guide my progress.
I also enjoy going away, (who doesn’t?!) and getting some perspective, both professionally and personally. This year is especially exciting for me because it is a year of transition, of ‘in-between’, and though change can be so very uncomfortable, one of my goals for 2017 is to embrace that feeling of discomfort.
Vacation is a great time to slow down, and bring myself into the present, to examine what is important to me, and what is not. It’s a great time for cleaning up, clearing out, refining my workflow, and centering myself. I love refreshes so much that in 2017 I’m instituting a quarterly refresh, so that I can maintain my focus, and continue making progress towards my writing goals!
How are you refreshing your writing in 2017? Tell me in the comments below!
